3. Recitations

The recitations are recordings of the King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex, Madinah, by:

• Sheikh Khalid al-Muhanna
• Sheikh Ibrahim al-Akhdar

The Complex grants their use in these words:

“the Complex is honoured to offer the digital copies of the voice recordings of Qur’anic recitations appearing on this page for their free general use in computer apps, broadcasting channels, internet websites, and for use in government and private sectors, inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

4. Translations and tafsir: QuranEnc.com

Every translation of the meanings of the Quran and every tafsir in the app comes from QuranEnc.com, used under its terms:

“Contents of the translations can be downloaded and re-published, with the following terms and conditions:

1. No modification, addition, or deletion of the content.
2. Clearly referring to the publisher and the source (QuranEnc.com).
3. Mentioning the version number when re-publishing the translation.
4. Keeping the transcript information inside the document.
5. Notifying the source (QuranEnc.com) of any note on the translation.
6. Updating the translation according to the latest version issued from the source (QuranEnc.com).
7. Inappropriate advertisements must not be included when displaying translations of the meanings of the Noble Quran.”

We show each translation and tafsir exactly as its publisher issued it, with no modification, addition or deletion. The tables below give each one’s language, its title on QuranEnc.com, its key (in brackets) and its version. Each key links to that translation’s page on QuranEnc.com.

QuranEnc.com does not publish a version number for the items marked “not published”. We show their text exactly as retrieved on the date given, and we have asked QuranEnc for the version numbers, which their terms ask us to mention; they will appear here and in the app as soon as we have them.

5. al-Mukhtasar fi Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim

al-Mukhtasar fi Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is by the Tafsir Center for Quranic Studies. The app uses it via QuranEnc.com, in the 15 languages listed in the tafsir table above.

6. al-Tafsir al-Muyassar

al-Tafsir al-Muyassar is by the King Fahd Glorious Qur’an Printing Complex, Madinah. The app uses it via QuranEnc.com (key arabic_moyassar).

7. App interface fonts

8. Background sounds

The background sounds are original works synthesized for Quran Rehal. They contain no samples, no voices and no recitation.

9. Word timings

The timings that light up each word as it is recited are made by NVAPPS LTD from the King Fahd Complex recordings.

We use its published timings only as a reference for the relative durations of words; our own timings are made from the King Fahd Complex recordings.
